Paper and poster template

We have provided the following paper template for short/full papers as well as posters.

Full paper

Submissions describing original, empirical, complete research. Full paper proposals should not exceed 10 A4 pages, including figures and references. One standard page equals 2.400 characters incl. spaces.

Deadline for submission is April 28th, 2025.

Short paper

Submissions describing research in progress. Short papers are likely to present a smaller and focused contribution, which will benefit from the feedback that early exposure can provide. Short paper proposals should not exceed 6 A4 pages, including figures and references. One standard page equals 2.400 characters incl. spaces.

Deadline for submission is April 28th, 2025.

Poster

Submissions presenting work within the overall conference themes in all possible stages: work-in-progress, initial research results, projects in initial stages of development, completed projects, and case studies. Poster presentations will be themed in moderated sessions with a short oral presentation and discussion with participants in the poster session. Posters must be presented by a registered participant in the scheduled session. Abstracts relevant to the conference and not invited for submission of a full or short paper presentation will be invited for a poster presentation. Authors of posters accepted for presentation will be required to prepare a max. A0 (1189 mm x 841 mm) size poster for display.

Following the guidelines from the abstract requirement, a poster description must be submitted (maximum 400 words). Deadline for submission is April 28th, 2025.

Before you submit your paper/poster, please check that your contributions meets the requirements listed in the checklist. If the formal requirements are not met, your paper will be rejected with a view to revision before it can be submitted for review.

Abstract format

Your abstract should be an explicit summary of your presentation that states the problem, the scientific relevance, the methods used, and the major results and conclusions. Do not include scientific symbols, acronyms, numbers, references, bullets, or lists in the abstract. All abstracts must be written in English. All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.

Title: No more than 75 characters

Text: No more than 250 words

Assessment criteria

Below you will find the assessment criteria for the contributions.

Relevance according to scope

Is the paper relevant to the conference themes and the selected topics?
Does the paper describe the relevance of the study and/or research topic with references to existing research, including the relevant references regarding the problem statement and research field?

Problem statement

Does the publication contain a clear and precise research question or hypothesis?
Is there a clear connection between the research question and the aim of the paper?

Theory and data

Does the publication employ academic/scientific theory and method, including reasoning about the choice of method, data and theoretical approaches?
Is it clearly described how methods, data sources and theories establish a basis for answering the research question?
If several theories or concepts are applied in the analysis: are the relations between these theories or concepts clearly described and does the paper explain their consistency with one another?
Are the underlying data, the data collection method and the data analysis process transparently described?

Compliance with formal requirements

Does the publication comply with the formal requirements as regards citation practices, referencing format, academic writing style, quotations, and bibliography?

Conclusion

Does the conclusion answer the research question?
Does/do the author(s) consider any limitations to the conclusions of the paper?

Language

Is the language clear, correct, and easy to understand?

Presentation of study

How does the manuscript present itself with regards to:
a. the scientific contribution to the field in question?
b. the scientific quality in general?
How does the manuscript/paper stand out regarding:
a. Originality?
b. The news value in relation to the professional and scientific field?

Posters will be assessed based on the criteria listed below. Please note that the list of criteria is shorter than that for papers. This allows posters to present work-in-progress, a development project, a planned research activity or similar. Therefore, a poster can be a presentation of and the reason for a research design with an emphasis on the state of the art, problem statement, and methodical considerations or research design.

Relevance according to scope

Is the poster relevant to the conference themes and the selected topics?
Does the presented research contribute to an area of research or professional or pedagogical practice (or both)?

Problem statement

Does the publication contain a clear, precise research question or hypothesis?
Does the poster describe the relevance of the study or research topic with references to existing research, including the relevant references regarding the problem statement and area?

Presentation of study

Does the poster present sufficient background or context information for the reader to understand the contribution to the research field or area of knowledge?
Does the poster clearly describe the methods, data sources and theoretical concepts applied in the (current or planned) study?
Does the conclusion provide answers to the research question? Or – if the poster presents planned research – expectations of what the study will show?
How does the manuscript stand out regarding:
a. Originality?
b. The news value in relation to the professional and/or scientific field?

Language

Is the language clear, correct, and easy to understand?

Submission

Please submit your contribution to the conference management system EasyChair ECRPL 2025.

Publication

All contributions will be peer reviewed and published in the conference proceedings as Open Access on Aalborg Universitetsforlag. All fully registered conference delegates (with payments received) will gain electronic access to the PDF-version of the proceedings one week prior to the conference.
