Foundation programme
Purpose of the program
Foundation Programme is a design-led programme preparing students for Danish Bachelor in the Architectural Technology and Construction Management (ATCM) at University College of Northern Denmark (UCN). The course aims to develop English skills, study skills and also to prepare other specialist subjects students need to succeed in the ATCM programme.
For students who have not completed general upper secondary education, Foundation Year will provide excellent academic preparation for their undergraduate and ensure that they meet minimum English requirement for entry to the ATCM programme.
Structure
Foundation Year is one-year study duration with equivalent to 60 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) and is taught by our partner, HCMC University of Architecture. Upon successful completion of the course, students can apply for direct entry to Bachelor of Architectural Technology and Construction Management.
Number of credits: 60 (450 hours)
The three main courses:
- Introduction to Architecture and Construction: 90 hours
- English: 300 hours
- Soft skills: 60 hours
Schedule
The Foundation Programme includes two semester, starting from October and ending on June
Semester 2: Introduction to Architecture and Construction; and working with UCN members in lectures, workshops
