Learn about the subjects and ECTS credits on the Service, Hospitality and Tourism Management program

The exchange program for Service, Hospitality and Tourism Management is a one semester (theme) program, where you will be attending regular classes together with other Service, Hospitality and Tourism Management students at UCN’s campus in Aalborg. 

The exchange period will run from the 1st of September to the 20th of January or from 1st of March to the 30th of June and includes several subjects, and will end with a test. Incoming students have to complete all semester activities to be eligible for the ECTS credits. It is not possible to be exempt from single subjects or mix subjects from other courses.  

To be admitted you need to be currently enrolled in a course with a similar educational level to an A.P in Service, Hospitality and Tourism Management at an educational institution recognised by UCN. Before you apply you need to make sure that the program fulfils the requirements of your educational institution. It is advised to contact the relevant study administrator/guidance counsellor at your educational institution before contacting UCN about an exchange opportunity.

The exchange semester (theme) will be worth 30 ECTS credits. The ECTS credits represents the workload you must undertake to complete the course and are distributed between the following subjects:

Theme 1 and 2

1st of September to the 20th of January

Theme 1 – Services & experiences (20 ECTS)

  • Industry knowledge (1 ECTS)
  • Servicemanagement & marketing (5 ECTS)
  • Experience economy (2,5 ECTS)
  • Creativity (2 ECTS)
  • Analysis & methodology (1,5 ECTS)
  • Business economics (3 ECTS)
  • Specialisation (Hotel and restaurant management, tourism management or Sports and event management (5 ECTS))

Theme 2 – Business understanding (10 ECTS)

  • Strategy & Market (2 ECTS)
  • Business Economics (2 ECTS)
  • Servicemanagement & Marketing (1 ECTS)
  • Analysis & Methodology (1 ECTS)
  • Service Law (1 ECTS)
  • Micro & Macro Economics (0,5 ECTS)
  • Specialisation (Hotel and restaurant management, tourism management or Sports and event management (2,5 ECTS))
