About UCN
UCN is proud to deliver real-life education, because in real life, theory and practice are closely intertwined. Being practice related is at the core of our DNA as well as our unique learning approach. What motivates and drives us is generating knowledge and learning that will yield positive results and bring about change for the sectors and the region serve.
UCN has campus locations in the cities of Hjørring, Thisted and Aalborg and is one of the most wide-ranging university colleges in Denmark in terms of study programmes that qualify students for occupation in the private as well as the public sector. UCN is an independent, self-governing institution under the Ministry of Higher Education and Science and is accredited by the Danish Accreditation Council.
UCN produces practice-related knowledge in the fields of health care, education, business and technology. The purpose of our research is to enhance our study programmes and to generate knowledge that will benefit professionals and the business community. International collaboration is a defining factor for our research activities, and UCN joins in a number of international research programmes and projects either as a contributor or project coordinator.
UCN was established in 2007 and has many years of experience in higher education. UCN is a merger between a number of education institutions, some of which date back more than 200 years. UCN has a total of 9.000 students in academy profession and bachelor's degree programmes as well as more than 9.400 course participants in continuing education.
