Beskrivelse
Learn about creative writing and storytelling as a didactic tool in the English classroom. This course will be based in a workshop format, where we explore how creative writing and storytelling can be the key to unlocking not only creativity, but the core competences of English as well.
Storytelling as an oral tradition is an essential part of many cultures, and the art of telling and writing stories is an inherent part of human nature. In this workshop, we will explore ways in which we can utilize students’ innate desire to hear and tell stories in order to develop their English language skills as well as interpersonal relationships within the classroom.
We will discuss the value of creative writing and storytelling as well as working in a writer’s workshop and storyteller’s corner to discover way to scaffold students in working with creative writing and storytelling. In the workshop part of the course, you will try various creative prompts and tasks designed to tap into your own creativity, as well as to demonstrate how the genres can develop specific competences within English.
The goal of the course is to inspire you to use creative writing and storytelling, but also to provide concrete tools and ideas that can easily and quickly be implemented in the classroom.
Please note that this course will be conducted in English.
